Reviews > [06.24.03] Zap2It.com TV Gal Review Okay you know how FOX is billing "The O.C." as the "90210" for the next generation? Well, I finally had the chance to watch the pilot and I must tell you that I loved, loved, loved it. (Alas, the same cannot be said for Eliza Dushku's "Tru Calling," but today we are celebrating the Amy Awards and we are happy, so we'll save the criticism of that show for another day.) "The O.C." which is set to premiere on Tuesday, Aug. 5, has a great cast, including the positively delightful Adam Brody (who charmed Lane this season on "Gilmore Girls"), Mischa Barton (who charmed Jess on "Once and Again"), Peter Gallagher and Tate Donovan. There's also newcomer Benjamin McKenzie as the kid from the wrong side of the tracks. McKenzie is a dead ringer for a young Russell Crowe, except that I like him and he looks like he bathes on a regular basis. Doug Liman (of the movie "Go" ) and McG (the genius, yes genius, behind "Fastlane" and "Charlie's Angels") are the executive producers. We are in need of a good juicy soap opera and kids I think this is it. I cannot wait for you to see it.
