Taking Place after Episode 3 Ryan was with Seth in the poolhouse, where Ryan was staying, and playing some Playstation when they were distracted by a knock at the door. As they both turned around to the door they saw Mr. Cohen enter but not move drastically from the doorway. Ryan started to think what Mr. Cohen could want; did his mom come back again? Are they going to take him to child services afterall? Did something happen and he would have to go back to juvi? These thoughts raced through Ryan's head but at the same time he was very cool and didn't seem to care what would happen; after all he had been through he didn't care anymore. But at the same time, Seth had his own thoughts going through his head; this was the first cool kid he has met and was his parents going to try to get rid of him again? Ryan and Seth waited and stared at Mr. Cohen until he finally spoke. "Hey guys, how's it going?" "So far I stole a car, got arrested, ditched by my mom, burnt down a house, got arrested again, almost got my ass kicked, and my mom left me again, but then again I get to stay at the OC now; so overall I'd say things are great," Ryan said sarcastically and flashed a sly smile. "No, you so got your ass kicked," Seth said in his usual joking mannered way, while Ryan turned to Seth and punched him in the shoulder jokingly with his sly smile, "So dad, what do you want?" "Well we seem to have a visitor," Ryan and Seth looked at eachother quite puzzled as to who it could be, "It's actually a friend of yours, Ryan." Mr. Cohen stepped inside and to the side of the doorway to reveal a person a few steps behind him outside. Ryan stood up and walked to the doorway with an expressionless look on his face. The person walked inside. Ryan saw his old buddy Ken and he couldn't help to smile walk over and say, "Hey." Ryan really didn't know what else to say. "Hey," Ken replied sorta stunned and clueless at the same time. "Ken, man, what's up? How did you... how..." Ryan was cut off when Ken started to talk, "I came to your house a couple days after you called me for a place to crash and the place was cleaned out and I had no idea what happened to you. Last I knew you were in juvi for stealing a car and next thing I knew your house was cleaned out and you were gone. But then yesterday I bumped into your mom at a bar between here and Chino and I asked her where the hell you were and she went into a big story on what happened to you and everything and she told me where I could find you, and well here I am!" Ken said with a smile on his face. Ryan was silent as usual, and just taking in all that was said and going on. In the meantime Ken was walking around the poolhouse, gawking in awe of this richness. It all was like a dream to any kid from Chino to be up in a place like this, "Daaamn, Ryan you sure got it good here, you should be glad your mom kicked your ass out and ditched you!" Ryan knew what Ken said was all to true but Ryan still loved his mother and stuck up for her. "Ken, watch it!" Ryan said seriously with a stern, tough look on his face. "Duude just chill! I'll I'm saying is that this place is killer and I would rather have my mom kick my ass out of the house if I could come live here!" Ryan ignored the comment and just kept cool. Mr. Cohen then decided to butt in, "So would you boys like to go out for the day and you all could get aquainted?" Seth just shrugged and looked over at Ryan for him to respong, but you could tell in his face that he wanted to go out. Ryan shrugged and nodded his head and let out a mumbled, "Sure."
