"The O.C.'s" good characters have been betrayedThe show's writers haven't exactly been consistent with Sandy, Ryan and Seth. Sandy is suddenly behaving like a shark, says Kim Linekin, while Ryan has turned into a busybody. And how did Seth go from "endearingly pathetic" to "pathetically pathetic" so fast? --- "90210" vs. "The O.C.": Which is the superior teen show?Bill "The Sports Guy" Simmons breaks down "The O.C." and "Beverly Hills, 90210" based on a number of categories, including "gratuitous use of half-siblings and step-siblings," "inexplicable homoerotic overtones" and "glaring and embarrassing exclusion of any African-American characters." Among his findings: "90210" had the better-written plot lines. "'The OC's' biggest mistake," he says, "was the way they raced through plots and relied too heavily on the 'tune in next week!' factor, which is a pretty dangerous way to go -- we weren't even midway through the second season when they were playing the lesbian card. At the rate they're going, by Season 4, we'll see Ryan kidnapped by a UFO or something." --- Fed up with spoilers, "O.C." and "Desperate" producers vow to fight back --- ENTER THE 'MIX IT UP' CONTEST The 4th installment of Music From The OC is coming on April 5, 2005, and to celebrate, we're giving away an 20GB iPod engraved with "Music from the OC" and pre-loaded with the new Mix 4 and Mixes 1, 2 and 3, plus a pair of tickets to see The Futureheads (featured on Mix 4) on tour in April at a city nearest you!
