Kristin (E!) From movieguru14: You have Seth Cohen's mom's name--how cool! For that...can I have some juicy O.C. scoopage? My, well, it is just a day of Kristens, Kristins and Kirstens, is it not? I hear Seth starts dating a girl (Olivia Wilde) who works at the Bait Shop, which is sort of the new Peach Pit. Per Adam: "He starts dating a bad girl, and you'll know she's a bad girl by her one butterfly tattoo, which we keep referencing, as if she's Tommy Lee." And speaking of moms, Adam told me that his mom keeps an eye on everything everyone says about her baby. (How adorable is that?) That being the case, I'll keep the real-life references to a minimum and only tell you that Adam and Rachel seem very much together, very much unengaged and very much adorable. Adam, regarding his mom (whom he took to the Emmys, by the way): "It's like, the Bush team or the Kerry team will have like eight TVs on, and they have their rapid-response team. That's like my mom with her eight TVs, and it's freaky sometimes. I'll go home, and she'll be like, 'I complied a tape of all your clips.' There's a lot, not because I'm so famous, but because she does a good job."
From nickkiegene: How did The O.C. do on Thursday? The O.C.'s ratings were okay--certainly the best Fox has had in a long time on Thursday nights, but they're still nowhere near Survivor's or Joey's. (Those shows came in first and second, respectively, for the time slot.) But keep the faith, after this week's heavy storylines, I think the show will lighten up and get back to The O.C. we know and love, and people will start flocking to it (and away from those other shows) in droves. And by the by, I don't think the numbers make much difference to the cast. Adam Brody told me, "That was Fox's call to put it [on Thursday]. The difference of an 11 and an 11.2 is huge to Fox, but for us, if we don't do well, we'll still have our fans. And they'll just move us up against some familial sitcom with an overweight guy and a hot chick. What is it with that anyway?"
From browneyes1114: Anything else on The O.C.? I loved the premiere.Ryan's new love interest, Shannon Lucio (Lindsay), is instantly likable, or at least the actress is. She's far more grounded than the other girl characters on the show, and she's much more like Ryan. When I asked her which boy she'd choose in real life, Shannon blushed and said, "Ryan. I guess I better say Ryan!" They were shooting a very cute scene the day we were there, with Lindsay trying to fit in with the other girls over lunch. And Mischa's new guy, Nicholas Gonzalez? Hot. Apparently, smokin'-hot gardeners are all the rage these days.
