I was checking out The Pool House and apparently Adam has a secret!! So does Bret (the "wise-cracking" Danny). They are in a band! Now, don't get too excited people. The band, called Steven's Team haven't put out a record or started touring...but I believe it's a focus they would like to drive toward, so cross your fingers, get those lighters out and buy some extra bandages for mosh pit accidents. Please check out the website, get some goofy pics of Adam and listen to some mp3s.

Now, it's the ladies turn...but unfortunately none were picked. One of the ladies picked, however, Caroline Dhavernas joins the network where her Lost and Delirious costar, Mischa Barton (The O.C.), struck ratings gold. "I don't think she even remembers working with me," laughs Dhavernas, noting she had just one line in the movie. "I'll have to ask her."

Biggest Question Mark: Honestly, I just don't know what to think about those O.C. stars, whose frequent public displays of bumpin' and grindin' have me grinding my teeth.

The latest: At New Line's Golden Globes party (all silly movie people from some Lord-of-the-something-something), I bumped into lovely Mischa Barton and Benjamin McKenzie. As Mischa did an interview with another outlet, Ben stood slightly behind her--drumroll, please--holding her hand.

PDA! Loving handlock! It must be official! Or rather, that was my knee-jerk assessment. (And it seemed to add up, since Mischa just turned the magical one-eight the day before the Globes. Mmmm-hmmm.)

But lo and behold, when contacted the following day, Mischa's rep insisted the two are "not a couple in real life" and that Mischa simply has a thing for handholding (which she also did with Wilmer Valderrama earlier that night). And so it seems the girl is just warm, loving and affectionate--on top of being drop-dead gorgeous.

How-evah! Since we are dishing about the way they do it in The O.C., bee-yotches, an interesting side note on that other could-be couple: Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson.

When the rumors started flying a couple months ago, I checked with a friendly flack, who told me they were "just friends." I checked in with said flack again recently, after receiving more and more Rachel-Adam sightings, and got the ol' "decline to comment on my clients' personal lives" line. And that, my friends, is one to Hmmm on.

I would like to make mention some thank you's. Previously on the site was a contest from Fox called "The OC On The High Seas Sweepstakes". I won one of the runner-up prizes...an autographed Yellowcard cd. Thanx www.the-oc.org for posting the site and thanx Fox for picking me.

Also, for all the people signing the petitions to help our Australian friends keep The O.C., a huge thank you. All your help has not gone unnoticed. Please help the cause and fight the good fight against Channel 9 who did not give a fair hand to the show.

From Channel 9 Australia
Found on message board IMDB

Dear Ms.

I am in receipt of your letter regarding “The O.C.”.

We are always interested in our viewer’s comments and we thank you for taking the time to write and let us know your thoughts.

Unfortunately, the apparent support for “The O.C.” was not reflected in the weekly ratings, which are conducted by an independent company (ATR) for each of the commercial networks. With the series coming last in its slot, the only available option was to replace the “The O.C.” temporarily and hope to re-launch the series on a new day or time sometime in the future. For any inconveniences this may have caused, we extend our apologies.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to write and we hope that you can continue to enjoy Channel Nine.

Kind Regards

If everyone can sign this petition it might help us get our O.C. back on Australian television.

The O.C.
This repeat of Ryan and Marissa's first kiss should have been a welcome return to high-gloss romance. After all, there's no crazy Oliver, which is a good day for all of us. But I gotta say, the "go get your girl" scene between Ryan and Anna right before he got on the ferris wheel with Coop bristled with a bit too much sexual energy, you know? And seeing how Orange County's most unblemished couple is in splitsville now, even the faintest hint of this road not taken really sticks in my crawl. Wherever that is.

BAD SINGING = GOOD RATINGS: The return of American Idol propelled Fox to the top of the ratings heap last week. With Idol holding the top three spots, the network won the week with an average 12.8 million viewers. Wednesday's Idol ranked as the most-watched show with 29.4 million viewers, followed by Monday's and Tuesday's installments. Idol also boosted the premiere of My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance (No. 8) and lifted The O.C. to its best numbers yet. NBC, buoyed by Sunday's highly-rated Golden Globe Awards, finished a close second with 12.7 million viewers.

WHAT DOES JACK BAUER HAVE TO DO WITH THE O.C.?

That's an odd question to ask, I know. And no, I'm not talking about some TV crossover deal where Jack Bauer is stepping into Newport to diffuse the bomb that's building between Seth, Summer and Anna.

I'm talking about "24inside." A new web-only show that interviews crew and cast after an episode have aired.

So you're probably still thinking, "Bauer, Newport...bwah?"

If 24inside does well, then maybe, just maybe, one day there could be an O.C.inside. Wrap your brains around that! That's 15 minutes more of paradise!

Now go! Support 24inside!

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Sticking with established behind-the-scenes names, CBS has inked a pilot deal with "Spin City" veterans Jay Scherick and David Ronn, while Marti Noxon of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is working on a pilot for FOX.

Scherick and Ronn, who also collaborated on the feature scripts for "National Security" and "Serving Sara" are developing "The Amazing Westerbergs," a comedy for Sony Pictures Television. The series focuses on two 20-something brothers coming to terms with their own personal limitations in Manhattan.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the deal stems from a hefty deal that the duo signed with SPT back in the summer.

Noxon's FOX drama is described as "Peyton Place" meets "The Omen." A mysterious girl washes up in a beachfront community and, based on the show's description, it seems likely that her presence will turn things upside down. *

John McLaughlin, who adapted A&E's recent take on "The Great Gatsby," wrote the pilot and will executive produce the series along with Noxon. Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Parouse of 20th Century Fox TV-based Original TV will also executive produce.

Noxon is currently working on "Still Life," a drama that has yet to find a home in FOX's midseason schedule.

--*Now does that almost sound like a female version of Ryan and the O.C.? Yea...almost. I bet she's a brooder too. But, will she also be a supposed Russell Crowe look-alike? And, didn't Luke mention bringing down the Great Gatsby to Oliver? Hmm...hehe. Just thought it was sorta interesting--

Some stuff you know, some just little comments, lil spoiler...

Seth Cohen Quote of the Week
"He watches Leno, that explains everything." Seth about the unfunny guy (Danny) on "The O.C." Thanks to TV Gal reader Diane for the quote.

Spoiler

Caleb will tell Kirsten to fire Julie on "The O.C." And Ryan and Luke will form an alliance to take down Oliver.

Where Have I Seen Them Before?

Seriously, you have to be sitting down for this one. Remember last season on "Dawson's Creek," Joey babysat Harley, the Professor's daughter. And remember how Harley's boyfriend Patrick had a crush on Joey? Um, do you know who played Patrick? Taylor Handley, the same guy currently playing Oliver on "The O.C." I know. I can't believe it either. But maybe if Joey had been nicer to him, we wouldn't be in this current predicament. (yep! Coulda toldja but I thought general knowledge from previous remarks on the character when first announced.)

Bret Harrison was the guy who wasn't so funny on "The O.C." He plays Brad on "Grounded for Life" and is Adam Brody's real-life roomate. (yep! Toldja!)

"The O.C.: 92663
Oh you know I'm not going to stop with the comparisons because that's how we do things in the TV Gal column. First of all we're all in general agreement that Sandy and Jimmy's new restaurant is poised to become the new Peach Pit (but where will the kids go after dark?). And TV Gal reader Shannon pointed out that Luke is so becoming the Steve Sanders of the group. I give you the following evidence: he had a relationship with the blonde pretty girl at the center of our story (remember Steve and Kelly dated back in the day), he has a gay parent and Summer laughed in the face of his sexual advances.
