Six Degrees of OC

Haley aka RAPTORFAN answered the most times with: 1. Adam worked with Milo Ventigmila(sp?) on Gilmore Girls (he was Dave, Milo=Jess), Milo had a very small part in She's All That with Freddie Prinze Jr who was Rachel's Nanny on Friends, and Tate was Rachel's boyfriend on Friends.

2. Adam worked on the project "Missing Brandon" in 03 with the actress Brenda Strong who was in "Expressed" with Tate Donovan. Brenda has acutally guest starred on a lot of shows so you could have her working with Adam on Gilmore Girls as well. Adam and Brenda both on GG, Brenda on Expressed with Tate.

3. Adam was on GG with Chad Michael Murray who guest starred on Dawons Creek which Brenda Strong did an episode of, and worked wth Tate on Expressed.

Finally: Adam was in Grind with Vince Vieluf who was in Rat Race with Jon Lovitz who played the stoned guy on an early episode of Friends which Tate also had a guest role.

Haley beat my number. Other people answered but didn't play the game fairly. Again, no using other cast members as degrees and since you can't use other cast members, you can't use my first answer of connecting Peter Gallagher to Tate Donovan.

Here's my long winded answer: Adam was on Gilmore Girls starring Lauren Graham. Lauren Graham did a guest stint on Law & Order trying to get into Benjamin Brandt's pants. Here you can go two ways, first, Benjamin was in Miss Congeniality with Sandra Bullock, Sandra was in Love Potion #9 with Tate; secondly, Benjamin was real life love of Julia Roberts who did a guest stint on Law & Order and Friends as seeking revenge against Chandler (who then became a boyfriend for a little time in real life). Tate was a guest on then-gf's Jennifer Aniston's show, Friends.

Here's a tougher one than normal: Connect Adam Brody to Rachel Bilson. I got (2) degrees.

As reported on November 21st, there is no episode airing on December 10th but the OC gang will be on air that night during that time on the same channel. Fox will be airing the Billboard awards and the cast of the OC will be appearing, so tune in.

Knowing that tonight's episode (in US anyways) is titled "The Secret", a secret has been spilled on a different front regarding The OC: our fave teen drama won for "Best Guilty Pleasure" in VH1's Big in '03 awards. The show airs November 30th. So, no need to cross those fingers and rub horse shoes for good luck, The OC is primed for stardom.

-From Michael: Any scoop on the "secret" on The O.C.?
=I've seen this week's episode, and it's sooo, sooo (a needle pulling thread!) good. (Don't look now but I'm talking about The O.C. like it's Alias--I am hooked!) Okay, the episode is all about "secrets," including Luke's dad. As you've probably heard, we'll find out that he's gay and that he's having a secret affair with his car-dealership partner. This storyline causes a brief ripple between Marissa and Ryan, but more importantly, it forms a very strong and unexpected bond between Ryan and Luke and leads to some hysterical lines from Seth (no shocker there). Also, Julie finds a housing solution (which causes Kirsten to flip out) and Sandy finds out that his wife was all smoochy-woochy with Jimmy Gimme-a-spine. Wheee!

-From stephiereds: Any other juicy O.C. news to share?
=Let's talk about Seth, baby. Anna and Summer get cozy, which drives him nutso, especially when they make him choose. He also starts working on his own holiday called Chrismukka, a combination of Hanukkah and Christmas. Yeah, he can stuff his menorah in my stocking anytime.

And if you care about "Donny"...
-From sofaspudder: I'm a little tired of Amy's moping on Everwood. Any chance the babysitter sticks around to keep Ephram company?
=Don't know about that, but I do know that Paul Wasilewiskikikiginigi (I know, I'm one to talk about difficult last names) is doing a "bunch" of episodes as Amy's love interest. I ran into him at the recent Teen People party, and he says he very well could stick around for a long time, if the audience likes their chemistry. So far, he has shot four episodes. And he's "freezing his ass off" in Utah.

Ok, and now for my "Six Degrees of OC" connecting Micha with Tate:

Jules W. wrote in: Mischa Barton was in "The Ring of Endless Light" with James Whitmore, who co-starred in "Mister Sterling" that also co-starred Tate Donovan. Good job Jules!

Me? I got a different answer. Micha was in "Sixth Sense" starring Bruce Willis. Bruce Willis guest starred on "Friends" as Ross' gf's dad and Rachel's love interest which Tate also guest starred as (and in real life too)

Wanna connect some more Tate? Try connecting Adam Brody to Tate. My lowest at the moment is (4) degrees. Answers can be emailed to psychoitaliano@hotmail.com with "Six Degrees of OC" in the subject line.

In this week's Entertainment Weekly (Sean Penn on the cover), Samaire is pictured (alongside Adam) with a few Q's & A's. Did you know that art has imitated life for her? And being part of a siamese twin isn't all it's cracked up to be? Learn more in this week's edition.

'The O.C.' Drama Queen

Think guys can't be divas? "The O.C." hunk boy Benjamin McKenzie petulantly locked himself in his dressing room and refused to emerge for a photo shoot, squealing like a girly-man at producers through the locked door: "I don't look as good as Adam (co-star Adam Brody) . . . You're giving HIM all the good clothes . . . You're trying to make me look bad!" The James Dean wanna-be finally came out sulking after major stroking -- and promises of much prettier clothes!

Eight Best Family Dramas, 11.20.03 ...
1. "Gilmore Girls." WB.
2. "Joan of Arcadia." CBS.
3. "American Dreams." NBC.
4. "Everwood." WB.
5. "Smallville." WB.
6. "Judging Amy." CBS.
7. "The O.C." Fox. Granted, not for the really young. You'd hate to have to constantly explain the sexual urges, or more dangerously, the bitchiness and money lust. But still, this season's surprise hit pairs teen interest with parental interest. The acting is solid on both levels (Peter Gallagher and Adam Brody in particular) and there's enough soapy theatrics to keep everyone glued for their own specific reason. Hey, not every family show has to be "7th Heaven."
8. "7th Heaven." WB.

Too bad, really. While there are restrictions on where you can ultimately go with the content of these shows, there's something to be said about the shared experience of watching TV together.

The Cast That Parties Together, Stays Together: Ain't no party like an O.C. party. And these days in Hollywood, it seems to be an O.C. party nearly every night.

Whether it's a Death Cab for Cutie concert (Adam Brody's favorite band), a premiere or, most recently, Teen People's 2003 Artist of the Year party, the O.C. peeps seem to go everywhere together. And what's more, they actually seem to like one another--so much so they're crouching in on That '70s Show's longstanding rep as Hollywood's joined-at-the-hipster cast.

"It's nice, isn't it?" Adam mused at the Teen People party, where he spent much of the night in his O.C. ménage à trouble with Rachel Bilson (Summer) and Samaire Armstrong (Anna). "Give us a season, and we'll be hating each other."

Such a jokester, that boy, especially when asked what's coming up on the show. "The virus goes airborne," Adam said in a hushed tone. "Oh, wait, that's 24. No, my love triangle plays out. There's a third party introduced to Ryan and Marissa's relationship, which gets a little tense. I guess that's what these shows are about: You find someone, and it gets f--ked up."

"Our love triangle definitely escalates," Rachel added. "And Seth will make a choice between Anna and Summer. I can't tell you who, but he does make a choice."

Ay-yai-yai. First, the Bachelor, now Seth. I'm not sure my weakened couch-potato heart can handle the suspense.

And now for that aforementioned foot-in-mouthitis, which actually happened when I first approached Adam for the interview. Back in July, at the O.C. premiere party, we talked about how we went to the same high school (though, ahem, a few years apart), so I knew his family was in an area that had to be evacuated during the recent Southern California wildfires.

"Is your family okay after the fires?" I asked.

When a look of terror crossed his face, I realized he didn't remember our oh so special connection and thought I was some kind of crazed stalker who was all up in his bidness.

"By the way," I added before he could respond, "your mom is always so sweet to bring me refreshments while I'm waiting in your bushes."
